The Park has now became the Tiger Reserve National Park. It is the second tiger reserve in the State Uttarakhand after the Corbett National Park.There is a total of 42 Tiger Reserve in the country.

The starting point for Jungle Safari in Rihsikesh’s Rajaji National Park is Chilla. This is a fixed 34 kms long wild life deep safari. The jungle safari usually takes around 2 to 3 hrs to complete.

You get to sit in an open jeep and experience the rough and rugged terrain of the deep forest. It is important to take Forest Department’s permission and tickets before you could enter the premises of the Rajari National Park. Jeep safaris act according to a time table, twice everyday for 3 hrs in the morning and 3hrs in the evening.
